1. Getting Started
1.1 Install TheFocus
- Download and install the app
- Follow the setup guide after launch
- Make sure the app runs in the background
1.2 Configure AI Models
You can choose to:
- Use your own API Key
- Or use the official hosted AI service (if subscribed)
Configuration steps:
- Open the Settings page
- Add an AI provider
- Enter your API Key
- Test the connection and save
1.3 First Use
- Type or select text in any input field
- Choose a scene or use a shortcut
- Wait for AI processing to complete
- The original text will be automatically replaced with the result
2. Scenes
What is a Scene?
A scene is a set of rules for processing text, including:
- Prompt (AI instructions)
- Trigger method (shortcut or command)
- Model to use
Each scene is designed for a specific task, such as translation or polishing.
Creating a Scene
- Go to Settings → Scene Management
- Click "New Scene"
- Enter a scene name
- Write your Prompt
- Set a shortcut or command
- Save the scene
Editing & Deleting Scenes
- You can modify prompts or shortcuts at any time
- Scenes you no longer need can be deleted
3. Triggers
Shortcut Trigger
- Select text
- Press the corresponding shortcut
- Original content is automatically replaced
Best for:
High-frequency, fixed-purpose scenes.
Command Trigger
Format:
/command content
Example:
/en Hello world
Best for:
When you don't want to memorize multiple shortcuts or need temporary use.
4. Models & Providers
Supported Model Types
- OpenAI
- Claude
- Gemini
- DeepSeek
- Custom API (OpenAI-compatible format)
Switching Models
You can:
- Assign different models to different scenes
- Switch the current model in Settings
- Favorite frequently used models for quick selection
5. History
View History
All processed text is recorded.
You can:
- View past results
- Copy with one click
- Delete individual records or clear all history
Local Storage Note
- History is stored only on your local device
- Nothing is uploaded to the cloud
6. Privacy & Security
How is Data Handled?
- TheFocus does not store your input text
- Requests are sent directly to your chosen AI service
- API Keys are stored locally only
When Using Official Hosted Service
- Requests are forwarded to model providers through official servers
- Used only to complete your requests

Why is nothing happening?
- Make sure you have selected text
- Make sure you have configured a scene
- Make sure the AI model is available
Which apps are supported?
As long as the app supports standard text input fields, it usually works.
Can I use it offline?
The app itself can be opened offline, but AI processing requires an internet connection.
Is multi-language interface supported?
Yes, multi-language interface is supported. You can switch in Settings.
